The Argentina rugby team coach Santiago Phelan has confirmed the team that will go head to head against other teams at the upcoming Rugby Championship.

There are thirty players who have been selected, and this roster includes the much celebrated players Felipe Contepomi, and also Gonzalo Tiesi. Contepomi is under a bit of pressure, as he captained the team when they played a two test series against England, but failed to emerge the victor.

Apart from these two players, coach Phelan has taken on seven players from the June squad, all of them able-bodied players and two players have been handpicked from the young Argentina team. The young Argentina rugby team finished at sixth place at the Junior World Cup which was held in France, so much can be expected of them. What coach Phelan has aimed at while selecting the team is very simple; He has taken in players who have years of experience in the field, and also players who are young, and are quick.

This can surely be a deadly combination if all the cards are played right, and the team will truly be a brilliant team, with lots of potential. Some of the senior players who have been selected include Julio Farias Cabello, who plays as a back row forward, and also Gonzalo Tiesi, who is the centre. Tiesi captained the team when they won a match with Georgia and beat them with quite a big margin.

The Pumas squad, which has been formed to give the players training and practice before the big match, are slated to fly to Pensacola, in Florida in the United States of America. They will stay there for a couple of weeks and train and practice intensively, at a specialist centre which they have been using for many years now.
